Plastic Moulding Design

Anchor Plastics has a design team that will help take your idea from a thought to a high quality finished product.

Utilizing the latest in Computer-aided Design and Computer-aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology along with years of experience our in-house design and toolmaking teams can help design and produce tooling that meets all of your specifications and requirements.

Design Phase

Whether your idea is a simple sketch on the back of an envelope or you have drawings in computerized format we can take it to the next stage. By working with you, our team will refine your concepts using CAD software, identifying possible weak points and suggesting improvements. In this way you will end up with a product design that provides you the customer with the following:

  • Minimized tooling costs
  • Optimized product design leading to efficient manufacturing costs
  • Products that perform the function they were designed for.
  • CAD Design drawings that can be used to produce Rapid prototypes if required

Toolmaking

Having a specialized tool making facility on site means that once your design is completed and approved by you we can set to work building your tool. CAM data is downloaded directly to our CNC machines. These machines enable us to produce high precision tools (dies). For customers requiring only very low volumes of mouldings or perhaps for a one off run only we can manufacture the die in aluminium as a way of keeping costs down. On the other hand if you want a tool that lasts then a special high tensile alloy steel will be employed.Once the tooling has been completed a trial run of your product will be done so that you can see molded samples of your product prior to production commencing and allows us to fine tune the tooling and the moulding process.
